Mary Beth Hansen, the owner of Nokomis's Paradise Grill, was selected as the 2021-2022 recipient of the Venice Suncoast Rotary Club's "Service Above Self Award".
The Venice Suncoast Rotary and Venice Nokomis Rotary combined their efforts to obtain a Rotary Foundation District 6960 Grant to sponsor improvements to the Student Leadership Academy.

On February 17, 2019 the Venice Sunrise Rotary Club hosted it's inaugural Hometown Heroes Banquet at the Venetian River Club honoring the Venice Police and Fire Departments. Venice Sunrise Rotary Club President Dennis Stroer presented plaques for special recognition to Police Officer of the Year Bill Kuchar and Firefighter of the Year Phil Castellano. A contribution by the club of $1,000 each was made to both the Venice Fraternal Order of Police and the Venice Fire Department's Benevolent Fund in honor of Bill and Phil. Please join us in congratulating these fine officers!
On February 5, 2019 the Venice Suncoast Rotary visited the Southeastern Guide Dog facility in Palmetto, FL. The Club recently sponsored its 5th dog, Tess. In the past 5 years the club sponsored Sunny, Rolf, Gussie and Micki. The Club encourages anybody who hasn't had an opportunity to visit the facility to do so and prepare to be "wowed!"
Venice Suncoast Rotary continued its longstanding partnership with The Salvation Army this holiday season with club members ringing the bell at the Venice Wal-Mart every Saturday and Sunday between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Venice Suncoast Rotarians set up the Salvation Army Thanksgiving dinner to feed the underprivileged in the Venice community. Rotary Cares!
